Joseph Grady (Joe) Hill Obituary
Joe Hill was born to Grady and Frances Hill, in San Angelo, Texas, on September 23, 1953. He died on January 21, 2026, in Andrews, Texas, of complications related to Covid. He was pre-deceased by his parents; and half-sister, Gerri Gillette. Surviving him are his sisters, Margaret Henderson of Hillsborough NC; and Donna Prawdzik of Irving, Texas.
Joe grew up in Veribest, Texas, and lived in the vicinity of San Angelo, Ballinger, and Andrews most of his adult life. At the time of his death, Joe was employed by Permian Regional Medical Center.
Joe was a man who held many firm opinions, particularly about politics, guns, and the best strategies for caring for cast iron frying pans. He was generous in sharing the random things he cared about, including hard copy maps of Texas and Dutch ovens, as well as the food he made.
The family thanks Vicki Gunter, his neighbors, and co-workers for supporting him through his final illness. His ashes will be scattered on the family ranch in Edwards County.
There will be no formal memorial service. Instead, we ask that you gather to trade your "Joe" stories over plates of onion rings.
The family asks that memorials be made to the Christoval Methodist Church or to the West Texas Food Bank in Andrews.
