Shirley Ann Elizondo, age 78, entered into eternal rest on July 12, 2016. Shirley was born at her home on December 2, 1937 in Blue, Ok. She spent her childhood in Oakland, Ca and moved to Texas to be close to her family in the early 1950's. Shirley entered Odessa College alongside her mother in 1957 to become a licensed vocational nurse. She married Rudy Elizondo on July of 1958 and graduated from LVN school shortly afterward. The Elizondo's lived and worked in Odessa until 1965 when they moved to Midland permanently. Shirley specialized as an orthopedic nurse and retired from Midland Memorial Hospital in 2003 after 45 years of service to others. Shirley enjoyed fishing on the Texas coast and reading. She was fond of her grand children and spent as much time as she could enjoying their company. She is survived by her daughters Leigh Elizondo (Debra Rockefeller) of Tomball, Tx, Jo Beth (Milton) Boyer of Arlington, Ma and Vicky (Don) Lowry of Midland, Tx. Grandchildren Megan (Will) Perkins; Kyle (Christine) Boyer; Mike (Arielle) Lowry, and Janay Boyer; 10 great grandchildren; Billie J. Kam (sister) of Oakland, Ca; and 3 Step Grandchildren Kaysie (Brian) Lackey; Teri (Chris) Forister; and Andy (Brenda) Lowry. Shirley was preceded in death by her husband, Rudy R. Elizondo, Gladys Owen Stephens (mother), Robert L. Birt (stepfather), and Douglas C Hartigan (father). Mrs. Elizondo will be buried in a private ceremony.
